After 31 years in public education, I decided to retire from full-time teaching and apply my passion for teaching and literacy in new directions.
I spent 7 years teaching English in grades 6-8 and then 24 years teaching English in grades 9-12. I have taught AP English, dual credit English, and AP Capstone courses during my career. Over the course of my career, I wrote curriculum and chaired my department.
One of the keys to staying current over three decades in the classroom has been my desire to be a lifelong learner. I continue to read professional works, attend conferences, collaborate, and learn new skills.
